If you need to buy farm tractor tires, then you will certainly need to take your time in finding a set that will last you a while and give you everything you need regarding quality and functionality. There are hundreds of different tires to choose from, and you will want to know what all of your options are.

Most people would agree that the size of the tires is a very important aspect of shopping for tractor tires. It can be confusing, so be careful and make sure you get the same sized tires that your tractor has right now. That way you can be sure that everything will work okay. After that, move on to other options.

But wait, let’s think about tires for a moment. Using the exact same tire you have now might not be the only option. Bigger tires often mean a tractor can cover more farmland in a quicker time period, and that’s a good thing. A lot of people avoid tires that are not the size they are using on their tractor already, but if you’re an advanced user, you can identify tires of a different size that would also work with your same tractor. Using tractor tires that are a larger size can make farming a lot easier by improving the speed and efficiency of your tractor work.

While searching for the right farm tractor tires, you may also want to consider the question of the type of terrain that you’ll be working on. Terrain is an important factor. You must carefully consider this, as most tires are made for specific purposes. For example, if you’ll be farming on soil that is especially soft, a wider range of tractor tires should be available for you.

In the case of soil that is hard, somewhat frozen, or really tough, you’ll need specialized tires. This could be heavy duty spiked tractor tires, or it could be tractor tires with a special tread. Before you buy, be sure that you know which tires match your soil the best.

How To Avoid Hurting Yourself On Garage Floor

Your garage floor is not commonly seen as a very hazardous place, but accidents usually happen when you least expect them. Unforeseen issues like fluids leaked from a car, poor lighting, clumsily stored home improvement products and potentially sharp tools are all factors to consider when treading in your garage.

Your Automobile Can Sabotage Your Garage Floor

When your car sits in the garage overnight you may be unaware of any type of leak that you will not be able to catch when you leave for work in the morning. That means that these spills will sit for most of the day until it dries. In that period of time that it takes to dry someone could walk into the garage and slip on the garage floor.

Look For Potential Problems

Poor lighting, like a dim light bulb or a single light that is ill placed, could leave much of the garage in darkness. This could make a slip in the garage even more probable. Clumsily stored home improvement products, like cans of paint or tubs of plaster, could be placed in the garage as storage. This could cause someone to trip over it or stumble over it and into something potentially deadly. One of these deadly items could be sharp tools that are on a work bench and seemingly out of harms way. However, if you trip over something on the garage floor you could run into one of these objects.

Just In Case

Installing a First Aid Kit in your garage can help prepare for potential injuries that may occur. Make sure it is packed with band-aids, antiseptic wash and a collect of gauze and cloths. The last two items are especially important because they can wipe up spills that can cause yourself or someone else to slip and fall. These cloths should be disposable since any time you need to clean up car fluid you need to immediately throw it away.

Keep The Worst From Happening

Build or purchase a storage cabinet that has doors that can close. Make sure that everything that is on your garage floor, like paint cans or plaster tubs, can be stored inside it and out of harms way. Putting all of your sharp tools in there as well will get rid of that risk. If you need to, install a light system that will light the entire garage instead just a portion of it.

Heat Shrink Tubing Guide

Do you need to work on a job that requires use of electrical wiring? If that’s so, you really should learn as much as you can about heat shrink tubing. This type of tubing is very helpful for any work that will require the bundling of wiring for insulation and safety. Heat shrink tubing is heated up to cover itself all around the outside of the wires, delivering secure and effective protection. It can be utilized to protect new electrical cabling or wiring that’s aged and in danger of abrasion. You can also utilize heat shrink tubing to create entry seals for electrical wiring and cables.

A lot of different shops sell this kind of tubing, but the easiest place to find them is probably at your local hardware store. Hardware stores always stock useful products for DIY projects, so they will obviously have heat shrink tubing available for sale.

When you go shopping, be sure to get a hot air gun. Without one, it will be impossible for you to heat up the tubing and apply it tightly around the electrical wiring you are using for your project. Be sure to find a high quality hot air gun, since you absolutely do not want find yourself stuck with a difficult to use or faulty air gun.

Another key point to be aware of is that there are several different types of heat shrink tubing available. Thin wall tubing, thick wall tubing, and medium wall tubing are the most common types, and each type is designed to match a certain type of work situation. Before you buy your tubing, be sure that you know exactly what kind of tubing will be required for the job you are about to perform.

Make sure to check out whatever you need done before you go out and buy any tubing. This way you will know for sure what you need, and you will not have to return to the store for more tubing later if you miscalculated. Online you will be able to find a variation of tubing available at lower prices than you will see in most stores, so that is something to consider when starting your next project.

Finding The Right Rubber Grommet

If your upcoming home improvement project requires a good rubber grommet, then you should carefully look at the options available and pick the right grommet for the job.

Many people find that they have never used one of these before, and if this is the case, you will want to learn as much about them as you can, including where to get them. You will most likely be able to find rubber grommets at your local hardware store, however that might not be the best solution if you are on a budget for your project.

One good place to look for deals is on the internet. You’ll find that many shops often have special sales on package kits of grommets in a variety of sizes and materials. These kits include grommets that are made of plastic, rubber, and metal. Rubber grommets might not be appropriate for every project. For example, in a project that requires strong and heavy duty grommets, metal might be a better option. If you are working with electrical wiring or fabrics, rubber grommets are the best option.

The right rubber grommet should be able to get the job done and be strong enough not to suddenly tear or break. You should also carefully measure it to make sure it is the right size. The grommet you use should perfectly match the size of the hole in which it will be placed.

You will be able to look online at all of the different sized grommets, and after measuring the whole you make, you will be able to tell exactly which size you need. Remember that you don’t have to buy your grommets from the first place you see. Take your time and shop around before making a decision.

Smelly Water: Cleaning the Faucet

If the tap water from your household smells, you know there is something seriously wrong in the household. You may be uncertain about the origin of the smell, but you should be aware that is an indicator of a serious household issue. There are several explanations for this problem. First, it might be possible there is a clog somewhere in the plumbing system, whether it is in the pipes or the water tank. Also, another reason is that the hydrogen sulfide gas accumulated within the faucet. It could simply be a buildup of grime and dirt in the faucet as well.

In the worst case scenario, the smell may have originated from bacteria in the faucet. Luckily, solving this problem is a simple DIY plumbing or disinfecting project. There is no need to call the plumbers unless you truly need their services.

Follow the below procedures on how to clean your faucet:

Tools and Materials Required: -Bucket -Flathead screwdriver -Hot water -Bleach -Crescent wrench -Faucet greases -Screwdriver -Tray or Box -Chlorine dioxide -Toothbrush -White vinegar

Step One: Prepare all the required tools and materials. Organize it neatly in a way where you can easily reach for them. Remember to turn off the water too!

Step Two: Remove the handle. Use your screwdriver and loosen the center screw. Remove any nuts or screws that are holding the facet in place.

Step Three: Look for any dirt that may be covering the faucet’s opening. Clear any rusting if there is any. Then, prepare a solution in the bucket of one part bleach and three parts hot water. Mix it well, and use a hose or eyedropper to place the solution within the faucet and faucet’s pipe. Leave in for 10-15 minutes.

Step Four: Using an old toothbrush, clean the edges where the sink meets with the faucet. Simply use some dish soap or water. Wipe it dry with a cleaning cloth.

Step Five: The drain part of the faucet often times is the dirtiest. Just make sure it is clean, and use water to flush out any remaining dirt or pieces in it. The solution used before should have done its job by now.

Step Six: Put the faucet back together. Allow water to flow for 3-5 minutes in the pipes to allow water to clean the solvent. If the water still smells, add a little bit of chlorine dioxide into the water tank that supplies the faucet with water.

Tips and Hints If there are still fingerprints or anything that you want to clean out, you can mix some white vinegar with water. Half a part of each is good. Just apply this solution to your cleaning cloth and wipe away! Stains should come off like magic.

Always check the warranty policies for your faucet, especially if it is a newer model. There is a chance that your cleaning solution may actually void the life time warranty of these faucets. If that is the case, the manufacturer should have a recommended method on how to clean the faucet.

Lastly, sponges or any kind of abrasive brush is not recommended for cleaning at all. There is a high probability that you might scratch up the finishing of your faucet.

Good luck!

Easy Help For Plugged Drains

There are a lot of plumbing problems that home owners encounter. Drains that get plugged is one of the most commonly found problems. Here are some easy steps that can help you.

Make sure that you run the hottest tap water that you can through the draining system every few days. Not only can this help prevent plugged drains but it also can help prevent the build up of bad odors that often occurs.

If you are already in the situation of having a plugged drain, home remedy types of solutions can be another thought. Baking soda and water often will resolve the problem with ease. Put a bit of baking soda down the drain and follow it with some vinegar and the bubbles that this creates will often clear the clog.

A lot of people believe that it is okay to pour grease down a drain. This is a big no no! Use something else to hold the grease that you are pouring off of items that are being cooked. A drain can only handle so much grease and then will get built up which will result in you having issues with the drain.

There are a lot of drain cleaners that are available these days. This may be the next step that needs to be done if the natural remedies are not working for you. Make sure that you follow the instructions very carefully as these cleaners contain some very harmful chemicals. You also need to make sure that the cleaner you choose is suitable for the drains that are in your home.

Prevention is the best course of action that can be taken in regards to drains and keeping them problem free. Making sure that they are free of hair build up can be one of the easiest ways to prevent problems in your bathtub. Using a strainer to catch food particles can be the way to prevent problems with your kitchen pipes. There are various things that a person can do.

Plugs that cannot be fixed on your own will need the help of a professional plumber. The expense may be the only recourse that you have as they have special equipment to get to the root of many problems. Sometimes this is the only way to fix things but you need to get it fixed so you really don’t have much choice in the matter.

The internet can be a huge help for you finding plumbing specialists in your area. Take some time to look into what they offer in regards to pricing and services as this can save you a lot of grief down the road. Getting a quote is another thing that people should do to ensure that thye do not get stung when it comes to charges.

To renovate, or not renovate, that is the question. If you have home improvement projects with questions, check out home renovation zone for a great resource on the topic.

Some Methods For Finding Good Plumbers

When you are having problems with your plumbing that you cannot fix for yourself, it is most likely time to call a plumber in for some help. However, if you are new to needing plumbing services, it can be hard to know where to look for good plumbers or how to find them. Here is a short list of points to help you make a wise choice on your plumber choices.

There are many ways to find a plumber both online and offline. However, if you are looking for quality work, there are some other things to consider. You want to make sure that the plumber you are hiring is experienced and will offer you a reasonable price to fix your problem. One way to do this is to check to see if the individual has the proper credentials. Many plumbers will even list their certification numbers with their ads so that you know they are qualified.

In fact, one of the main reasons that people often have bad experiences with a plumber is because they do not do enough research. There is nothing wrong with checking credentials or making sure that your plumber has experience prior to allowing them to work in your house. It can actually save you a lot of time, money, and any future hassles from making a poor choice on your plumbing services.

Asking for some recommendations can be another way that you can find decent plumbers in your area. If your friends or family have had any previous plumbing issues they can tell you whose services they may recommend. Likewise, they may also tell you which plumbers you should not hire. It can be a good way for you to learn about various plumbing services

It can also be a wise idea to check reviews on different plumbing services on the Better Business Bureau. If a plumber or their company has a large amount of complaints, then you know they are not worth your money or your time. Likewise, if there are many good reviews, you know that you are likely to receive trustworthy service if you decide to hire them.

You should begin to compile a list of plumbing services that you may be interested in. After you have done this, you should call each plumber individually to find out about their pricing and see what services that they offer. It can be a good idea to keep the prices written down to help you remember who offered which price. In addition to this, you should begin to compare prices to see where you will get the better deal.

If you are a tenant in a house or an apartment, you can ask your landlord for advice. They will most likely be able to give you a few plumbers that they use regularly for their plumbing issues at the property. You might also be able to get a discount for being a tenant at your location. This can usually produce the name of a good plumber or plumbing service for you to try.

These are a few methods of finding plumbers in your area. You can also use other methods for figuring out which plumbers are worth your money. Keep in mind that you should check references and qualifications. By doing this, it will make it easier for you to find a good plumber and you will have less worry about the quality of the work that you are receiving.

To renovate, or not renovate, that is the question. If you have home improvement projects with questions, check out home renovation zone for a great resource on the topic.

Money Tips for Keeping Your Automobile in Tip Top Shape

There are actually many items in our cars that we can fix ourselves. Being a mechanic is fun, and it will actually save ourselves a chunk of change. Best of all, it doesn’t take that much time either.

It’s hard to imagine that something simple like inflating your tires will have such an impact on the life of the tires. On top of that, you save on gas too. Do it yourself regularly and don’t wait till maintenance time.

Everyone knows that they should change their oil, but not everyone does it because of the cost. If you do it yourself, the cost is so much cheaper and you can extend the life of your vehicle.

You could ask someone to change your windshield wipers, but it’s actually pretty easy to do it yourself without ever spending anything on labor. Just pop it out and put the new one back in.

The first weekend right after the first snow storm of the year is always a very busy time for tire changers. Why wait in line and pay someone else when you can do it in 10 minutes?

Unless you are a mechanic, it’s impossible to do major repairs yourself. You also really need to know what you are doing because a missing screw can mean life or death.

The car accessory may claim that it can save you money, but it probably won’t unless it’s a very high priced and sophisticated piece of device and needs professional installation.

You may not know how to change break pads, but you really don’t need to go to the dealership to do this. Many people can do this for you, so just go to a trust mechanic and ask her to change them out.

Get your light bulbs changed without breaking a sweat. It’s very easy and now that people want to charge you for everything, it’s not worth asking them for a favor.

I’m not saying that you should do your wheel alignment yourself though, because it’s pretty much impossible. You need equipment to do it which you will never have so pony up the cash.

I can shop all day if I can always use these Overstock coupon right now.

Mending A Chipped Or Cracked Epoxy Garage Floor Coating

Most people apply epoxy garage floor paint because they want to be sure that their concrete garage floor will be protected. It looks really nice, and makes you happy to be in your garage. I bet you never thought garage flooring could brighten your day so much! But then, it happens. A tool falls (insert slow motion footage), slams into the epoxy garage floor coating, leaving a dent and sending a chip of epoxy flying. Thankfully, repairing cracks and chips on epoxy garage floors isn’t very difficult.

Do This Before Repairing An Epoxy Garage Floor Coating

If you installed your own epoxy, you’ll probably remember making sure the floor was extremely clean, and this is your first step yet again. You have to be completely sure that the scar, as well as the area surrounding it, is clear of all oil, grease, and dirt, even if you’ve only ever parked cars in there. Even if they’re brand new, cars have this way of leaving their mark on floors. Epoxy, though, is made to resist chemicals, so it’s pretty easy to clean. There are lots of cleaners out there that you can get that are designed to be used on painted flooring, though dish soap does the job well, too, and will probably be better for your hands. Do not limit the cleaning to the area that is damaged. Be sure to clean an area that is fairly large around the damaged spot.

We’re Going To Have To Amputate…

If you were to simply fill in the scar, scratch, crack, or whatever it is we’re repairing, it would be fairly obvious. Epoxy, like all paints, sort of change color over time, even if it’s not readily apparent, and simply “touching it up” would leave you with discoloration. With cars, you can fix this by using a scratch remover or clay bar and mixing the new paint with the old. However, epoxy paint’s resistance to damage sort of works against you in this case as it will also resist repairing scratches in this way. To address this, you’ll want to cut a square around the affected area, so that the area with the new paint is large enough that it won’t be so obvious. You can do this using a box cutter or a hobby knife of some sort. Go for about two inches around the scar, but bigger if you’re repairing an extremely obvious area, like the center of your garage floor. Once you’ve made the cut, use a blow dryer to heat the area so until the epoxy softens, then scrape it away with a paint scraper.

Fixing The Problem While Being Sure Not To Die

Now you can finally apply the new epoxy garage floor coating over the mostly bare concrete. Although you’ll have to use a bit of common sense, you can pretty much use the directions included with the epoxy that you’re using to repair with, just on a smaller scale since you’re only doing a small portion. Be sure to lightly go over the edges, bleeding over in to the old paint a bit, to create a better match. Also, be very careful to have proper ventilation any time you are dealing with epoxy garage floor coating. You weren’t meant to breathe the stuff.

Avoiding Having To Do This Again

Buy a garage floor mat! If it happened once, it will happen again. To prevent that, buy some sort of garage floor covering, at least for using whenever your garage floor might take a hit. After everything is said and done, you’ll be very glad you did. Epoxy garage floor coatings are very nice to look at, and certainly durable, but they’re not indestructible.

Do You Plan To Stain Your Garage Floor Using Quikrete Concrete Stain?

There’s no question that Quikrete is the most popular brand among garage floor coatings. This may be due to their good reputation, or the catchy name, but I don’t think anyone even comes close. If you consider this, then it makes a lot of sense for Quikrete Concrete Stain to be seen by many as the best possible garage floor stain available.

Which Quikrete Concrete Stain Should You Use?

Believe it or not, there’s any specific product called “Quikrete Concrete Stain”. For those that aren’t in the know, this can lead to some confusion as, when searching for Quikrete Concrete Stain, the results you get will be either Quikrete Semi-Transparent Concrete Stain, or another staining product, Quikrete Etching Stain. You need to be careful when you decide, too, as the two products are going to give you very different results. Let’s take a look at the Quikrete Etching Stain. In time, I’m sure I’ll get to the Semi-Transparent Concrete Stain, but not now. Oh, don’t get so upset, I’ll do it eventually. And don’t forget to eat your vegetables.

According To Quikrete, Etching Stain Is The Best Solution For Your Garage

Quikrete does not recommend using anything but etching stain in the garage, and they have good reason for this. When etching concrete, you melt the surface of the concrete garage floor using acid and scrape a bit of texture in while, with this product, you add a colored stain. The resulting garage flooring will give improved grip to both human shoes and car tires and a classic, old world look.

OMIGAH! Etching Sounds Complicated!

Etching concrete is not difficult. Actually, Quikrete says that their etching stain is a one-coat application. They also make it very clear that a sealant must be used, though, so that pretty much kills the one coat idea. Still, the complete install is much easier than epoxy garage floor paint and, after you apply the sealant, there will be some protection, which stain alone can’t claim. Also, don’t forget that you will need to thoroughly clean the garage floors and, if your floor has oil or grease stains, you’ll want to use a stain remover. One coat, huh?

Is Staining Cheaper Than Epoxy Garage Floor Coating?

Usually, but not in this case. My guess would be that it’s due to the acids needed for the etching process, but a can of Quikrete Etching Stain will likely run you over $300, and that’s without cleaner or sealant. That’s pretty darn expensive, even moreso than some of the higher quality garage floor tiles. However, garage floor tile won’t make your concrete look like marble. Is it worth it? That depends entirely on you. If protecting your concrete is your top priority, I would say no, although once sealed, there is some protection. If your main goal is to make your concrete look different than any of the other garage floor finishes, though, then this will certainly do it.

For more information on Quikrete Concrete Stain, check out Sweet Garage Floor.
